Q:

Will the Communications Office give me a phone to use?
A:

No, you must supply your own telephone.

Q:

Can I turn my phone service off during the middle of the semester?
A:

Yes, you can have your phone services turned off at any time.

Q:
After signing up for telephone service, how long will it be before service
is turned on?
A: Normally, your service should be on by the next working day after your request is made.  However, please allow up to three working days.

Q:

I just signed up for new telephone service.  How do I find out what my telephone number is?
A: You will be sent an email confirmation at your blazerid@uab.edu email address which will include your new phone number.  Additionally, your telephone number will be available through the Student Online Requests website as soon as it is programmed in our system.  Please check there periodically.  If your telephone number has not been assigned within 3 working days, please call our office at 205-975-7262.

Q:
How are bills sent out and when is payment due?
A: Telephone bills are mailed monthly and should be paid in full no later than the last workday of the month. All payments should be made in the Student Accounting Office at Hill University Center, Room 322.

Q:
Can I pay my telephone bill online?
A:

Yes. You can use BlazerNet to pay your bill with accepted bankcards.   After logging into BlazerNet, click on the Student Resources tab, then click the link under My Account.  Next, click the link at the bottom of the page for credit card payments.
